Comments from Grief and Loss workshop participants ~

"Excellent presenter - information presented we can all benefit from personally and professionally."

"Very good speaker - very inspirational."

"Articulate - presented well."

"An excellent presenter and public speaker who speaks with passion, compassion and empathy on a difficult topic."

"Janelle speaks not only from the heart, she speaks from experience. With her husbands brain injury and subsequent death Janelle has touched the lives of many people helping them through her writing as well as her advocacy work in the brain injury community.
Janelle is as comfortable in speaking front of an audience as she is with individual people helping them to deal with the every day stress of grief and loss.
She is a tenacious advocate as well as a grief councilor to those who need to deal with their stress and loss. I can’t think of anyone who is more qualified to perform this task. The brain injury community is fortunate to have it’s own guardian angel . . .  and her name is Janelle Breese Biagioni

Caregivers Exclusive: Exploring the Grief Journey of a Caregiver

When a loved one is catastrophically injured, other members in the family (often a parent(s) or spouse/partner) assume the role of primary caregiver.  The “layers of loss” experienced by caregivers is profound, but often overlooked.  This session explores a multi-faceted approach to help caregivers move beyond their grief and heal.

An Extraordinary Mourning: Understanding Grief after Brain Injury

Traditional modes of grieving (i.e. funeral) are not available to the families and individuals coping with the devastating and life-altering outcomes of a brain injury. They often describe their experience as ‘death-like,’ yet there is no ‘invitation’ to mourn their losses.  As a result, they are plummeted into an immense sorrow for which they get no relief. Presented by a family member, this presentation offers a compelling testimony blended with practical, yet revolutionary guidance to empower survivors and families, and those who support them, through the journey of grief.
